In today's economy, everyone is looking for ways to budget their spending so they can still meet all their needs. One of the areas that has been suffering is this hobby, due to less expendable cash on hand, but the needs are still there. So many have resorted to bargaining the women down, stating their needs and their loyalty to them as leverage.
I am only going to describe one incident, but there have been several similar to this in the past months as our economy has declined.
A gent calls me, up after several months of not seeing me due to being laid off, asking if he can get an hour deal for 100. My response was a sudden laugh out of surprise then I said I was sorry and couldn't justify my time for that. He then responds, "Why do you need so much?? It's not like you actually do any real work for the money. I should just go down to the street corner then because I can get it for even cheaper there!" Then he hangs up. I could hear the frustration in his voice, and I'm sure he was disappointed that he couldn't get what he wanted for the price that he wanted. But did he really need to degrade me in such a way?
To justify, not only for myself, but for other providers in the industry.....
As an independent provider, we spend many hours a day on the computer, either creating ads, posting them, or marketing our services in some form or fashion. We also read blogs and reports on things that are happening that might affect our business as a provider, such as vaw changes or predators in the area we are working in. We also do our best to keep up with the ever changing data base of men who are threats in this industry so we can steer clear of them and stay safe, so time is spent screening those who contact us for booking. Many hours are put into working on our web sites, updating information, getting photo shoots and updating pictures.
Doesn't this sound like a full time job already? And we haven't even got to the fun part yet lol.
We also spend $ on these ads, and memberships to boards we belong to where we post these ads. We spend $ on new lingerie and other clothing items and supplies that we wouldn't have to purchase if we were working in a different industry. Not to mention the cost up physical up keep...... have any of you gone to the store just to buy shampoo, soap, lotion and a box of condoms? Not to mention the cost of makeup and other things.
So our investment of time and money has to be recuperated in that one or two sessions we do as a result of a whole days work and financial investments. As a previous business owner, I am familiar with bottom line numbers so I know that just because I received 250 for that hour of companionship I supplied, I will get to claim only a portion of that as net income. So if I were to accept an offer for 100 for an hour, I would actually be losing on the session. How does that seem fair to me or any other provider out there who is working so hard to provide for you?
Times are tough, for everyone, but minimizing the value of the work of someone else is wrong and disrespectful. So if you are considering calling your ATF and asking for a favor, please take these things into consideration before you put a price on her service. Most of us are willing to make exceptions for our loyal visitors (by loyal I mean more than twice a year) so be kind, courteous, and generous.
